Dave and Renee Chronister, founders and owners of Parameter Security, both wanted to start their own business, but they were looking for a venture they knew was right. "We were both at the peak of our professional careers, as we directly reported to the company owners, and wanted our next challenge, says Renee Chronister. "That's when we decided to start an ethical hacking firm, and after doing research and bouncing the idea off many people, we knew it was a viable endeavor and went for it."
ln December 2006, the partners started Parameter Security, originally intending to concentrate solely on the proactive approach to information security known as ethical hacking. However, they began receiving requests to help companies that had already been hacked track the trail of the perpetrator. "After receiving many calls for this line of work, which is known as computer forensics, we developed a computer forensics side of the business, which is a reactive information security approach, and have since been expert witnesses in courts of law based on our findings," says Chronister.
After that the Chronisters added Hacker University, which provides information technology security bootcamps, and their team has grown from two to ten. (And is still growing.)
