Network Penetration Assessor

Responsibilities of a Penetration Assessor at Parameter Security

 

  • Gear Up and Dive In: Configure, use, and troubleshoot all security testing tools. Create custom configurations and scripts to tackle unique challenges.
  • Scout and Secure: Validate target lists and perform discovery scans of target system subnets. Ensure no asset is left unchecked.
  • Analyze and Adapt: Go beyond automated tools. Critically analyze vulnerabilities, identify false positives, and adjust risk ratings based on specific system considerations.
  • Show and Tell: Demonstrate system and network vulnerabilities to customers. Help them understand the impacts and risks with clear, engaging explanations.
  • Communicate Like a Pro: Engage with customers through written reports, video calls, and in-person meetings. Ensure they are well-informed and confident in the detailed findings and recommendations provided.
  • Team Up and Take Charge: Participate in findings meetings, provide input on stakeholder responses, and work independently to assess risks with minimal support.
Qualifications of a Parameter Penetration Assessor

 

  • Experience Matters: At least 2 years of experience performing penetration audits in a professional setting.
  • Tech Savvy: Deep knowledge of Linux, Windows, TCP/IP, SQL, and Web Servers.
  • Communication Pro: Excellent verbal and written skills to present complex technical concepts in business terms, both in writing and through video and in-person meetings.
  • Framework Familiarity: Understanding of PTES, OWASP, and NIST SP800-115
  • Certified Defender: Pen testing certification (OSCP, OSWE, GWAPT, etc.).
  • Home Base: A distraction-free work environment with a stable internet connection.
